Note : add plenty a freshly cracked pepper on top of the eggs and bacon. Some finely chopped parsley or chives can be added as a finishing garnish to the dish. Grated cheese can also be sprinkled on top or mixed in with the bake beans, along with spring onion and some sour cream. Black pudding may not be every fathers 'cup of tea' so if necessary substitute with sausages instead. | |

SCRAMBLED EGGS (BARN STYLE)
Preparation time : 5-10 minutes

Mix everything together in a big bowl with a fork. Pour mix into in a frying pan and heat
until well cooked. Stir and mix often to stop it from sticking to the bottom or burning.
Try adding your own varieties of mustard, herbs and spices. |

BASIC PANCAKES
Preparation time : 15 minutes + 1 hour standing
1. Sift the flour and salt into a medium bowl; make a well in the centre. Add the egg and milk and whisk until smooth. Set mixture aside and let stand for 1 hour. 2. Heat a lightly oiled frying pan. Pour 3 tablespoons of mixture into the pan. Tilt pan to spread the mixture evenly. Gently lift edges with a knife. When underside of pancake is golden, turn over and cook the other side. 3. Transfer to a plate and sprinkle with either lemon juice and sugar, jam and cream or maple syrup. Roll up and serve hot. |

BEER & RAISIN MUFFINS
Preparation time : depends on how much beer you drink beforehand...

1. Preheat oven to 190 C and lightly oil muffin tin.
2. Place the butter, sugar, egg, beer, allspice and aniseed into a bowl and mix well. Add the flour, baking soda and raisins and blend until mixed. 3. Fill the muffin tin with the wet mix and bake for 20 - 25 minutes. Make Dad a cup of coffee while the muffins cook. |
