Here are a couple of food ideas for a Father's Day breakfast, suggested to me by my Dad:

  • A couple of bits of toast
  • Some strips of bacon
  • 2 eggs - poached, fried or scrambled
  • Hash browns
  • Black pudding (or sausages)
  • Fried tomato halves
  • Bake beans
  • A can of air freshener
  • Hot cup of tea or coffee
cooking set
Note : add plenty a freshly cracked pepper on top of the eggs and bacon. Some finely chopped parsley or chives can be added as a finishing garnish to the dish. Grated cheese can also be sprinkled on top or mixed in with the bake beans, along with spring onion and some sour cream. Black pudding may not be every fathers 'cup of tea' so if necessary substitute with sausages instead.

"When I was a boy of 14, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be 21, I was astonished at how much the old man had learned in seven years."
